Alexandre Ledru-Rollin

Alexandre Auguste Ledru-Rollin was a French lawyer and radical politician who became one of the most prominent advocates of universal male suffrage in 19th-century France. A leader during the French Revolution of 1848, he served as Minister of the Interior and helped introduce direct universal suffrage.
